Onboarding a new cook with standard recipes

A new cook wants to get it right, but does not yet know how things work here. Every question during service costs someone else attention.

Give them the recipes before the first shift

Add a new cook to the section’s shared folder as a viewer. They can read at home what gets made and how, in the version you approved.

Let them cook from their phone

In cook mode the recipe is on screen in large text. Tick off what is done, scroll with wet hands. No greasy printout that is unreadable halfway through service.

One way of working

Whoever learns from a standard recipe learns your kitchen’s way. Not that of their previous restaurant or of the colleague who happened to stand next to them.

Ask for feedback

New people see what regulars no longer see: a quantity that is off, a step that is missing. Let them report it, and update the recipe for everyone.

In Savour you add new cooks to a shared folder with view rights. That is free for them.

Your recipes deserve a better place than a drawer.
